Multan: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) Muhammad Akram Chaudhary has directed that electricity for illegal housing schemes be disconnected in the entire region, a news source reported. He instructed the superintendent engineers to recheck the electricity connections of all the housing schemes.
MEPCO CEO also said that action will be taken against MEPCO officials and staff involved in providing electricity connections to illegal housing schemes. He also said that MEPCO should take indiscriminate against electricity theft, their connections should be disconnected and fines imposed on them.
Meanwhile, Water and Sanitation Agency Managing Director Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has directed that action will continue against housing schemes illegally connected to sewerage system. WASA teams headed by Director Recovery took action on Nawabpur with heavy machinery.
Three housing schemes owe PKR 3 million to WASA, so their sewerage connections were also disconnected.
