Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed has directed that the Rawal Dam Chowk flyover be completed by October 31, rather than December 30, 2021, as previously agreed, news sources reported.
To fulfil the deadline, the chairman instructed that the work be done in day and night double shifts. Furthermore, in order to assess the quality of the work on the Rawal Dam Chowk flyover, the chairman also paid a surprise visit to the construction site and enquired about progress.

The city traffic police, on the other hand, issued an alternate traffic plan for the construction period ending on October 31 to facilitate the citizens’ movement in the city.
As per the alternative traffic plan, the vehicles to and from Murree Road, Bara Kahu, Rawal Dam Chowk and Expressway, shall use the route of Srinagar Highway (Zero Point), and Faizabad to Rawalpindi via expressway.

People going toward Bara Kahu via IJP road shall use 9th avenue, Murree Road, Srinagar Highway and Kashmir Chowk as alternative routes.
The Islamabad City Traffic Police Radio FM 92.4 will also keep citizens up to date on the city’s traffic situation. Officials have asked residents not to commute unnecessarily and to comply with police officers.
