Lahore: The Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman of Steering Committee for Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project, Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan noted that out of the 27 train sets being imported, 17 have already arrived and the rest will be imported in the next few week, reported a news source. He noted this during the weekly progress review meeting.
He further stated that 84% of the civil work is also complete, so the project has reached its final stages and all the relevant departments are working in coordination for swift completion. Nespak General Manager Salman Hafeez further elaborated that 40% of electrical and mechanical work has also been completed.
Progress on Package-I from Dera Gujjran, GT Road to Chauburji was 89.5%, on Package-II from Chauburji to Ali Town, it was 75%, and on the depot near Dera Gujjran, it was 85 %, while on Stabling Yard near Ali Town it was 86 %.
It was also noted in the meeting that after Supreme Court withdrew the restraining order, the construction work near the historical spots was also progressing at a fair pace. Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan instructed the meeting to follow the Supreme Court’s directions through and through in this regards.
