Lahore: Consultants of the China Railways Engineering Consulting Group and the National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak) have begun monitoring the structure work of the Orange Line Metro project, according to news reports.
Four members of a Chinese team arrived in Lahore from China before Eid-ul-Azha, LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed said.
The cost of the Orange Line Metro project is estimated at PKR 165 billion, of which PKR 50 billion will be spent on civil work. The consultancy cost of PKR 2.4 billion would be shared between Chinese consultants and Nespak.
The Chinese consultants, who are the leading partner in the joint venture, are currently monitoring work from Salamatpur, Ali Town, and the area between Scheme Mor to Samanabad Mor via Yateemkhana.
Land for the project will be acquired after property owners have been given due notice, according to the news source. The project is expected to complete before its estimated 30-month time.
