Lahore: Preparations are underway to run a test drive of the Orange Metro Train on May 31, reported a news source. The train will be available for public use on September 28.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was briefed on the test drive.
Under the Package I of the project, which is divided into 13 parts, development work on all stations except for that in Anarkali will be completed by May 31, while work on the Anarkali Station will be completed by June 30.
The news report further revealed that GPO Chowk on Mall Road will be open to traffic on March 31 while work will continue on the Orange Train’s Central Station, which is to be delivered in September.
Orange Line Metro Train project’s Package II also comprises 13 stations, among which work will be completed on stations in Choburji, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Samanabad, Scheme Morr, Sabzazar, and Awan Town by May 31. Development work on the remaining stations in Shahnoor, Wahdat Road, Hinjarwal, Canal View, Thokar Niaz Baig and Ali Town will be completed on June 28.
