Karachi: The city administration has decided to scientifically clean the facades of the historical buildings located in Karachi, according to a news source. It is working in collaboration with the Heritage Foundation Pakistan and Rotary Club Karachi.
Officials stated that the operation would begin with the Denso Hall cleaning festival from April 14. Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani made this decision in a meeting held recently.
The founder of the Heritage Foundation, Yasmeen Lari, was also present and told the meeting that these efforts will bring back the city’s glory. She stated that the facades of all buildings on Marriot Road would uplifted one at a time every Sunday on a voluntary basis. These measures will also pedestrianize Marriot Road and create livelihood opportunities.
Lari gave a detailed presentation on the gentle scientific method to clean Karachi’s historic buff-stoned buildings to volunteers. She welcomed all Karachiites to participate in this cleaning festival and revive the city’s glory. All relevant authorities will be collaborating to make these efforts successful.
