Multan: The Multan Electric Supply Company is all set to launch an operation against double-source electricity connections in the old town, reported a news source. These connections have been adding burden to grid stations, feeders and transformers, leaving them overloaded, in addition to the hazards they pose.
A few days ago, a MEPCO lineman died on duty due to these double source connections in Walayatabad. MEPCO has also learnt that one of its employees is involved in helping people get double-source electricity connections in exchange for money.
A double-source electricity connection allows users to get power from another feeder once a feeder shuts down due to load-shedding.
