Lahore: A strategy has been planned to deal with 638 illegal housing societies in Lahore, Kasur, Nankana, and Sheikhupura by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB), reported a news source. The strategy was finalised in a meeting held between the two departments a few days ago.
According to the strategy, operations will be carried out in three categories. NAB will deal with the major housing societies that were established by confiscating government-owned land, and also those involved in fraudulent practices. In addition to this, the Bureau will also investigate any LDA officials involved in issuing approvals to these societies.
The meeting also decided that any delays in issuing LDA approvals to housing societies will also be addressed on a priority basis.
