Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) has resumed its operations against illegal housing schemes and land sub-divisions in the city, reported a news source. In its latest drive, the development authority razed site offices, roads and sewerage systems in eight land subdivisions and two unauthorized housing developments.
This latest operation was launched on the joint orders of GDA Chairman Sheikh Amir Rehman and Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Naila Baqir. The GDA Enforcement Cell has been conducting the operation for the last several months.

For this phase, the GDA Enforcement Cell Director Mirza Shah Zaman, along with other officials and police force members, launched a crackdown against illegal housing schemes in Wazirabad. The developers and owners of these unauthorized housing constructions were found selling plots without procuring an NOC from the GDA.
Speaking to the media, Gujranwala DG Baqir said that the operation against illegal projects and developments would continue without any discrimination. She advised developers to apply for a GDA NOC before officially launching their projects for sale.
