Multan: Commissioner Multan Imran Sikandar Baloch has ordered crackdown against land mafia occupying land owned by the state, reported a news source. The retrieved commercial and residential units will be re-allotted on merit.
Baloch also indicated that officials involved in illegal agreements for allotment of property owned by state will be dealt with severely. Contracts with the allottees found to be causing damage to the allotted buildings will be cancelled.
The directives were issued while Baloch presided a meeting with higher officials representing Multan Development Authority, City District Administration and Multan Municipal Corporation. He also ordered the officers concerned to prepare new rentals rates for property owned by the state in line with current policy.
Talking about misuse of funds issued by the government, Baloch said that elements found guilty will face legal consequences. Furthermore, he shared details on the plans in place for dealing with land mafia in Multan.
During the meeting, Baloch instructed the building inspectors to share legal certificates for all buildings constructed in their respective zones. Speaking to the officers from MDA’s Town Planning Wing, he asked for the list containing details on pending cases for map approvals of commercial and residential projects in the city. He also ordered them to facilitate public on MDA One-window Operation Counter.
