Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Region Excise and Taxation Director General has assigned property tax collection targets to the respective circles for the month of Ramzan, reported a news source. The officers failing to meet their targets will face departmental action.

The Excise and Taxation officers in the region will work 7 days a week until June 30 to meet their targets. The officers in smaller circles are to collect PKR 500,000 daily from property tax defaulters, while the daily target set for officers from bigger circle is PKR 1,000,000. The region comprises of a total of 23 circles.

The department has also decided to continue arresting tax defaulters and sealing their properties during this time. Reportedly, the revenue collected in terms of property tax against the set targets has been quite low, and this has been a cause of concern for the department.
