Rawalpindi: In a drive against illegal real estate developments, the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation’s Planning & Enforcement Wing sealed 11 commercial properties, reported a news source. The city-wide operation is being carried out without any discrimination.
During its latest crackdown, the Planning & Enforcement Wing demolished the illegally constructed fifth floor of a commercial building on Murree Road, sealed it, and filed a case against the owner at the local police station. A similar operation was carried out in Satellite Town where the encroachments set up on a parking area were demolished.
Those involved in carrying out illegal construction activities and encroaching on government land were warned against being involved in such activities in the future. The officials also instructed the building owners to seek formal construction approvals for their projects or the illegal structures will be demolished again.
