Lahore: Punjab Cooperatives Departments has start an operation against cooperative housing schemes found entangled in financial discrepancies, reported a news source. The operation is being carried out on orders of Provincial Minister for Cooperatives Department Mehar Muhammad Aslam.
On November 23, Punjab Cooperatives Department Registrar Dr Kiran Khursheed issued the orders to completed the forensic audit of cooperative housing societies as soon as possible.
The cases for recovery of revenue worth billions of rupees from the various cooperative housing societies have been sent to National Accountability Bureau and Anti-Corruption Department. Sharing details on the operation, Aslam told the media the cases against the matters concerning rent lease, illegal construction activities and recovery of pending dues are being investigated.
Sharing further details on the matter, he said that the inquiry has initially been carried out for the above-mentioned matters in Canal View Housing Society, Professional Cooperative Housing Scheme, Greater Lahore Cooperative Housing Society, and Chinar Bagh Housing Scheme.
In addition to the mentioned societies, the cases against commercial shops in Islamabad by Cooperative Development Funds and Projects, Lahore have also been forwarded to NAB and Anti-Corruption Department.
