As per details, during his inspection of the ongoing development on Sunday, Ghani emphasized the significance of this project as a major infrastructure upgrade for Karachi.
Project Director Tariq Mughal briefed the minister on the progress, noting that work is being conducted around the clock to meet the deadline. Ghani highlighted that the completion of this bridge will significantly ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity in the city, particularly benefiting the residents of Korangi, Landhi, and Malir.
The minister described the bridge’s completion as a “New Year’s gift” from the Sindh government to the people of Karachi. He also noted that the project is part of broader efforts by the Sindh government to invest billions in mega uplift projects across the province, in line with the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Ghani recalled that in previous monsoon seasons, traffic on the Korangi Causeway was severely disrupted due to flooding from the Malir River. The decision to reconstruct the bridge on an emergency basis was made to ensure the uninterrupted flow of traffic during such events.
