Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Wednesday (September 29) announced that the online tax returns submission portal – IRIS – is working seamlessly and filers should use the system to submit their income tax returns before the deadline expires, according to news sources.

As per the details shared, it was reported that IRIS had crashed previously because thousands of people were trying to file tax returns. FBR had enhanced its system capacity to provide exceptional services to the taxpayers. It was also mentioned that the 150,000 returns were filed on September 28, which were the highest returns to be filed in a day.

Moreover, FBR reiterated that there will be no extension in the deadline of September 30 for the filing of income tax returns for Tax Year 2021 (TY-21). To accommodate the maximum number of filers, the working hours will be extended till midnight today. The FBR has requested the taxpayers to file income tax returns before the deadline to avoid complications.
