The overseas Pakistanis can now obtain succession certificates (for movable properties) and letter of administration (for immovable properties) through a simple online process at National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA)’s facilitation unit.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari made the said announcement on Twitter and also shared a copy of the notification issued by the cabinet. He acknowledged that it was previously a cumbersome process and said that this new online facility can help thousands of overseas Pakistanis.

As per the cabinet’s notification, the legal heirs can get Letters of Administration or Succession Certificates without having to go to the courts, through a quick five-stage process facilitated by Succession Facilitation Units managed by NADRA.
Reportedly, at present, only one facilitation unit is handling properties/assets in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). With this new development, more units will be established in other cities of Pakistan.
