Islamabad: Measures are being taken by Capital Development Authority (CDA) to make the capital city cleaner and greener, a news source reported. Islamabad is popular for being the second-most beautiful capitals in the world and CDA plans to make it even better. Efforts will include planting more trees as admitted by Environment Director Irfan Niazi.

Niazi appreciated the effectiveness of Clean and Green Pakistan awareness campaign, which has inspired citizens to get involved in the rising trend of planting saplings. This has greatly helped in ensuring that Islamabad can become more environmentally friendly.
The Clean and Green Pakistan awareness campaign is part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision for the country. Efforts similar to Islamabad have also been decided for Lahore under the Clean and Green project. The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) is going to plant 500,000 trees along Lahore Ring Road.
