Islamabad: The newly appointed Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary has announced the unveiling of his ‘One-Year Action Plan’, designed to address various issues plaguing the federal capital, within a week.
According to a news source, the main objectives include reducing the burden on tertiary care hospitals and the provision of clean drinking water to residents. The plan has already been discussed with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif verbally and final approval will be sought as soon as the premier returns to Pakistan.
Chaudhary reportedly said he wishes to convert Islamabad into a model city and ensure the provision of basic needs such as education, health care, and employment. Other priorities are access to affordable housing, removal of encroachments on public land, and resolution of Model Village residents’ grievances.
The CADD minister added that a helpline will also be launched to take into account suggestions made by residents.
