Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board RCB has given a one-week deadline to the owners of 50 illegal water hydrants to get their hydrants regularised, a news source reported. The hydrants that aren’t regularised within one week will be shut down.
The regularisation of water hydrants will help the RCB earn revenue and also fix the water crisis in the neighbourhood. This will allow the RCB to set rates for water tankers and save people from buying them at higher charges.
The board previously placed a ban on these hydrants on order of the Supreme Court and later lifted the ban as per the instructions of the apex court.
