Karachi: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Chairman Redha Jumma Mohammad Ali-Al Saleh has invited the Pakistani business community to join forces for securing growth in food security, mining, logistics, tourism and industrial sectors in the Gulf country, according to news reports published on January 7.

Mr Saleh is currently is leading a 20-member Omani delegation to Pakistan, and he made these encouraging remarks while on a visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
The chairman revealed that his government is working to improve these five sectors under Vision 2040. He explained that Oman is open for international investment under simplified rules that allow investors to invest 100% capital without needing a local partner. It was also highlighted that taxes in Oman were much lower with tax holidays for up to five years. Omani delegate also revealed that a road to Saudi Arabia has been opened, which has reduced the cost, distance, time and made Oman a hub for exports.

The OCCI chairman said that Oman has tax-free zones for exports’ production and new incentives are being offered to investors in a progressive economy that offers advanced infrastructure and tax benefits. He said that Omani Embassy in Pakistan is working with the OCCI to make the visa process easier.
