Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has handed over the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project to a Chinese company – a news source reported.

The civic agency recently completed the track-laying process. This 27.1-kilometre-long track will run between Ali Town and Dera Gujran. In a similar effort, LDA completed construction work on the track linking Chowburji to Lakshmi Chowk.
The Chinese company, CR-NORINCO, will complete electrical and mechanical work within two months. It is pertinent to mention that the OMLT project has entered its final phase of completion.

Meanwhile, a committee of experts on heritage visited Government Islamic College Civil Lines. They inspected the condition of the campus building and identified spots that required improvement. Moreover, the members took a tour of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

The Supreme Court had constituted this body to suggest recommendations with regard to tackling the environmental hazards posed by the OLMT project.
