Lahore: Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) stations will be commercialised, a news source quoted Punjab Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan. This will be helpful in generating the funds required to facilitate its operations.
Khan further stated that private banks and other financial institutions will be asked to sponsor these stations. This move will help to avoid increased losses. The Minister also expressed his displeasure over the delays faced by the OLMT project.

Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) had expressed its concerns over the non-implementation of its orders related to the project. It then proceeded to direct the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to release PKR 1 billion for OLMT development. It further ordered the authorities concerned to complete the project on time. Penalties will be handed out for any compliance failures.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to keep clear of the project’s proceedings until specifically requested.
