Lahore: The Task Force made to determine the primary steps needed in regard to China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) held its second meeting on April 3, with the primary goal being to determine the progress made on the projects currently under CPEC and to choose new development projects to invest in, as per reports. Punjab Finance Minister and chairperson for the Task Force Hashim Jawan Bakht ordered the Communication and Works (C&W) Department to complete the OLMT Project latest by December this year.

Spokesman CM Punjab Shahbaz Gill, Punjab C&W Minister Jahanzeb Khichi, Secretary Planning & Development (P&D) Iftikhar Saho, Chairman P&D Habib ur Rehman Gillani, and officers of Industries, Transport, Health, School Education and Agriculture along with representatives of Punjab Economic Research Institute and Urban Development Unit took part in the meeting.

It has been reported that 94% of the OLMT Project has been completes, while Allama Iqbal Industrial City Faisalabad M-3 is not far behind. The procedure for establishing Punjab Skills Authority has been started as well. Bakht was also assured by all related authorities about encroachments. He emphasised the importance of understanding the attitudes and interests of Chinese investors in order to gain the maximum benefit from their investments.
