Multan: Taking notice of road collapse incidents on Suraj Miani Road, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has decided to shut down the 40 year old sewerage line, a news source reported. A new line has been laid but the old one was not closed, which had caused the road to sink in several separate incidents.
The old line is being plugged at 23 points and WASA authorities have imposed a state of emergency on the matter due to sewerage complaints in the area. Other measures have been taken as well. Whereas previously only 2 pumps were operational on Suraj Miani Disposal Station, now 3 more pumps have been made functional as well.
