Islamabad: The Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. (PPL) has started oil production from the recently discovered Adhi South X-1 well in the Potohar region, according to a new source. The site near Khewra was discovered earlier in March this year.
Initially, the PPL is extracting 1,300 barrel of oil and 2 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd). According to details, the PPL started oil production on April 24 within a record time of approximately one month after the site was discovered.
The oil and gas production from the Adhi South X-1 one is gradually increasing and the PPL is hopeful that to produce 6 MMcfd gas and 1800 barrels of oil per day. The discovery is playing an important part in appraisal and development of Adhi South Field.
