Rawalpindi: Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) on Thursday announced the discovery of oil and gas reserves in upper Punjab, according to news sources. As per the publication, the company tested the hydrocarbon levels of its Development Well Pindori-10 in Rawalpindi and discovered that it could potentially provide 832 barrels of oil and 2.76 million cubic feet of gas on a daily basis.
The company revealed that the drilling of Pindori-10 had been initiated on January 28, 2019, and it had achieved its target depth of 13,701 feet soon after. Consequently, the Drill Stem Test (DST) was conducted at the well to test the Lockhart Formation. In the aftermath of DST, the well has tested 832 barrels per day of oil, 2.76 million cubic feet per day of gas, and 330 barrels per day of water. The company further maintained that testing of the well is still underway.

POL holds a 35% working interest in the Pindori D&P Lease, while the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and the Attock Oil Company Limited hold a 50% and 15% share, respectively.
Earlier in January, the Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) had revealed the discovery of condensate and gas at an exploratory well in Ranipur Block, in Sindh. The well reportedly tested 1.85 million cubic feet per day of gas and six barrels per day of condensate.
