Peshawar: The Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) has found oil and gas reserves in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at Togh Well-1, according to news sources.
The OGDCL was executing exploration procedures on-site, in consultation with its Joint Venture partners of Kohat EL; Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL), and Saif Energy Limited (SEL). During the testing and drilling activities, it discovered the oil and gas condensate. As per the reports, the firm drilled down to the depth of 3,200 metres.

The preliminary test shows that the well can produce approximately 50 barrels per day (BPD) and condensate through 32/64 choke at wellhead, along with 4.1 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscdf) gas and flowing press of 760-823 pounds per square inch (psi).

OGDCL controls 50% of the project’s shares, while 33.33% shares belong to MPCL, and 16.67% belong to SEL. The discovery was made possible by the aggressive exploration strategy of the joint venture and has opened a new avenue by adding to the hydrocarbon reserve base.
Last month, OGDCL discovered oil and gas reserves at Chanda Well-05 in the KP Kohat district as well.
