Islamabad: Leading foreign investors on Monday informed that they had invested over PKR 20 billion for social-economic development in Pakistan – a news source reported.
The Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) committee released its yearly report recently. The OICCI CSR Report 2018 highlights the group’s financial and non-financial contributions.

Irfan Wahab Khan, OICCI president, said that the investments directly benefitted 60 million people. The investors contributed PKR 6 billion in the form of direct investment.
Human capital development and health & nutrition were key focus areas, with eight-seven percent of the investments having been made in the former. Many OICCI members funded educational and vocational training programmes.

OICCI is a group comprised of the top 200 foreign investors in Pakistan. In terms of economic contributions, OICCI is the largest funds-providing chamber in the country. Its members also rank among the largest tax contributors.
In the previous fiscal year, the group accounted for one-third of all tax collection. Its members invested over USD 2.7 billion.
