Islamabad: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has released its 15th report titled State of the Regulated Petroleum Industry, reported a news source. The report mentions that Pakistan is projected to face a gas deficit of up to 3.9 billion cubic feet per day (BCFD) during the year 2019-20. The deficit by 2029-30 is going to reach 6.6 BCFD, the report further projects.
The report mentions several measures that Government of Pakistan has started to reduce this deficit. These measure include providing incentives for local gas production, steps to import natural gas as liquefied natural gas (LNG), and pipeline projects with Iran and Turkmenistan.
