Islamabad: The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has communicated its discovery of four hydrocarbon deposit sites in the last three months, a news source reported. Using an aggressive exploration strategy, the company, along with its partners, discovered three deposit sites in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and one in Sindh.

These locations have the collective potential of producing 886 barrels per day (BPD) of oil and 26.432 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.

According to reports, during the fiscal year (FY) 2018-19, OGDCL injected 13 new wells, and produced 373,515 barrels of crude oil and 4,867 million cubic feet (MCF) of gas in its production-gathering system. They added that the company contributed 45% to the country’s total oil production, and 29% to that of gas.

At the moment, OGDCL is realising all its production volumes from onshore areas of the country. However, the company has expressed interest in the exploration of offshore blocks.
