As per details, the discovery represents a key milestone in the Sinjhoro block of the Sembar Formation, marking an important development in the Baloch production and development lease area. The Baloch-2 well was successfully drilled to a significant depth of 3,920 meters on February 24.
The exploration effort, leveraging OGDC’s in-house expertise and technical support from joint venture partners, yielded impressive results. The well’s Drill Stem Test-3 demonstrated a flow rate of 6.8 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, alongside 388 barrels of condensate per day.
The Sembar Formation, renowned for its extensive hydrocarbon potential, spans the Middle and Lower Indus basins. This new discovery not only underscores the formation’s untapped potential but also introduces a promising exploratory opportunity in the Sinjhoro block.
