Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Development Authority on Wednesday razed the structures of 14 illegal housing schemes – a news source reported.
Previously, several officials visited the housing schemes in question and inspected their documents. Director Management Mirza Shah Zaman and Director Town Planning Noman were part of the team.

They found discrepancies in the documents, and later declared the societies illegal. An operation was carried out to demolish the boundary walls and offices of the schemes.
The schemes worked against included Ashraf Town, Green City, Ahmed Town, Asghar Colony, Chishti Colony, Asghar Bajwa Town, Sabri Colony, Bhinder Colony, Rise Garden, Muhammad Colony, Nai Colony, and Islamia Town.

The civic agency warned of indiscriminate action against schemes operating without NOCs. Additionally, it has asked citizens inquire details about all housing schemes prior to making investments.
GDA has also promised to carry out the drive on a day-to-day basis. According to officials, criminal cases will be lodged against violators.
