Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken strict action against illegal housing societies under the orders of Chairman RDA Muhammad Arif Abbasi, a news source reported. Hafiz Muhammad Irfan, a spokesperson of the authority, told the media that the offices of five illegal housing schemes were sealed on Sunday with the assistance of the Directorate Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering.

Notices have been issued to the owners of these societies, under the Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. The site offices were located in Tehsil Taxila Rawalpindi.

The RDA requested the general public to make sure that the housing schemes they invest in have not been declared illegal by the authority. The status of these schemes can be checked on RDA’s website. Additionally, they asked Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd, Islamabad Electric Supply Company, and PTCL to refuse their services to any illegal schemes.
