Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved the allocation of land in Sector I-17 for the setting up of the first medical city in the twin cities, according to a news report. A summary in this regard was presented in CDA’s board meeting by a member of the CDA Estate Department.
Land to establish the medical city has been allotted to National University of Medical Science (NUMS). NUMs will construct a 4,000-bed modern hospital, an organ transplant centre, a medical college, a nursing college, along with other related facilities.
The news report also reveals that a summary has already been sent to the CDA Cabinet to change the status of Sector I-17 to an industrial estate.
