Islamabad: Over 1.8 million people have submitted their tax returns to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for the fiscal year (FY2018-19), a news source reported.

The federal institution has added over 1,870,000 individuals to its Active Taxpayer List (ATL) since extending the deadline for filing income tax returns.
It anticipates the number to exceed two million by April 30, which is the last date for filing income tax returns. The board issued a notification to this effect on March 31. This is the fourth extension announced by the FBR for filing the said returns, with the previous deadline slated for March 31.

As per the recent ATL, 1,871,116 people have so far filed their income tax returns for FY2018-19. In comparison, some 1,840,000 individuals had submitted their tax returns for FY2017-18.
