Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has completed its preparations for establishing a manmade forest along Nullah Leh — with the project to be developed on an area spanning three acres of land near the Sports Complex on Murree Road, according to a news report shared on September 20.

The forest will feature fruit bearing plants and the RDA is expected to acquire approximately 5,000 saplings from the private sector for the purpose. Additionally, the task to plant the forest is estimated to be completed by October 30. In the meanwhile, the authorities concerned are also seeking suggestions from individuals and corporations regarding the said forest’s official name.
The forest will further serve as a recreational spot for families and will also feature jogging tracks. Moreover, all provisions will be made to ensure the security of the area.

According to RDA Chairman Tariq Murtaza, the plantation drive to establish Pothohar’s first manmade forest will be initiated during the first week of October.
