Reportedly, the 500-kiloVolt (kV) transmission line would carry up to 1530 MW of renewable energy from the Tarbela 5th Extension to Islamabad West Grid Station. Furthermore, as part of the deal, the contractor firm will also construct a 2.8-kilometre-long 500kV single-circuit interconnector transmission line between Tarbela T-4 Switchyard and Tarbela 5th Extension Switchyard. It was also revealed that the World Bank (WB) would fund the project as a part of its initiative to increase reliance on clean energy.
