Lahore: Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has announced that 25,000 affordable homes will be constructed for the blind in Naya Pakistan Housing Programme, reported a news source. He shared this information while chairing a ceremony held in regard with the White Cane Safety Day at Alhamra Cultural Complex.
The ceremony was attended by several notable names from the provincial departments and also the blind students from various schools in Lahore. Addressing the meeting, Rasheed also mentioned that efforts will be put to reserve 1% quote for the blind in NPHP. He also announced land to be dedicated for the construction of a hostel for the blind.
