Islamabad: The federal cabinet on Thursday approved a supplementary grant for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) project – a news source reported.
Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over the cabinet meeting. Under the terms of this grant, funds will be transferred to the Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company Limited.

The World Bank previously released an instalment of USD 58 million, out the pledged USD 140 million, for the company.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has approved funds to conduct a feasibility study of NPHP. The executive released the funds on the request of the housing department.
A meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), presided over by P&D Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani, sanctioned the transfer of funds. Several low-cost houses will be constructed in Chishtian, Lodhran, and Renala Khurd using the grant money.

PDWP sanctioned the funds worth over PKR 2 million for the NPHP project in Chishtian. Similarly, it approved PKR 3 million, each, for the housing projects in Lodhran and Renala Khurd.
