Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Monday said that a special package for journalists will be introduced in Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) and Kamyab Jawan Programme, according to news sources.

During a telephone conversation with a delegation from the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) led by PFUJ President Pervaiz Shaukat, the minister stated that the current administration is committed to providing facilities for the journalist community. He also stated that health cards will be issued to journalists on a priority basis.
Fawad Chaudhry remarked that the Journalists Protection Bill is a significant step forward in the protection of media workers and journalists. Last month, a bill was enacted to prevent involuntary or forced disappearances.

Furthermore, the minister condemned the firing incident on Pervaiz Shaukat and stated that reports from the Inspector General of Police had been sought (IGP).
