Lahore: The federal government has notified another extension in the registration deadline for Prime Minister (PM Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), a news source reported. As per the latest announcement, the executive has extended the last date to January 15, 2020.
The registration process for this low-cost housing initiative began on July 15 and was scheduled to continue till October 15. However, in light of the public’s enthusiastic response the deadline was extended to November 15 and then to December 15.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) recently announced its receipt of 1.9 million NPHP applications. The applicants included 715,473 people from the labour class, 184,355 slum-dwellers, 34,654 widows, 9,325 divorced women and 5,500 members from the transgender community.

Further, NADRA is offering registration services for the initiative through its e-sahulat network established nationwide. Those interested can also get themselves registered through the authority’s website. So far, 1,918,000 people have submitted their applications for the low-cost homes being offered on easy installments.
