Lahore: The government has announced another extension in the registration deadline for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) to facilitate the general public, a news source reported. As per details, the latest due date is scheduled to expire on December 15.

The process of providing affordable houses to the homeless under the NPHP initiative began on July 15, and continued for three months till October 15. The government then provided a month’s extension till November 15.
According to an official, the federal government has provided the latest extension in bid to facilitate the masses who have expressed great interest in the NPHP project.
He stated that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had launched the second phase of the NPHP registration process in July 2019. He added that the phase was in its full swing and over 1.6 million individuals had registered themselves so far.
Further, the official said, the government was collecting data from the masses as part of the registration process. He added that this data contained their requirements for housing so that authorities concerned could launch housing projects accordingly.
As per reports, the registration process launched by the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) includes the formation of a comprehensive database. This database comprises of vital information pertaining to housing projects; such as area preference, amenities, and required finances.

Interested individuals can visit the NADRA’s NPHP web portal or its ‘e-sahulat’ facilities available across the country in order to commence with the registration process.
