Peshawar: While chairing a meeting of the housing department on Friday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan approved the development of housing schemes in Dangram (Swat) and Hangu, and another residential initiative planned under the second phase of the Khpal Kor programme in Peshawar – according to news sources.
The CM also directed the housing department officials to expedite the work on new and existing housing projects in the province in a bid to ensure their timely completion.

He stressed on the need to meet the deadline with regard to the completion of the NPHP project that spans over 8,500 kanals of area in Surizai, Peshawar. He also ordered the completion of the Peshawar Model Town and CPEC City (spread over 80,000 kanals, located at Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Hazara and Peshawar junction) in Nowshera.
In response, the department officials informed the CM that the development work on approximately 20,000 homes in the province would commence following the agreement finalisation with the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation.

Moreover, he was apprised of the progress with regard to the allocation of about 1,877 plots in Peshawar, Nowshera, Abbottabad, and Kohat under the Khpal Kor Housing project, allotment of 371 plots under the Mullazai Housing project at Warsak Road in Peshawar and the completion of 50% work on the Jalozai Housing project which spans over 8,905 kanals. Additionally, he was informed that the Provincial Housing Authority service centres had been set up in Peshawar, Kohat, Swat, and Abbottabad.
