Lahore: The ballot to identify allottees of low-cost houses planned under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme in Lodhran was held on Sunday (Oct 12), at the project site at Chak 100-M, a news source reported.
Punjab Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed conducted the computerised ballot and also announced the names of the successful allottees. This is the first ballot to be held for any NPHP project in the country.

Addressing the ballot ceremony, Minister Rasheed said that the construction of 200,000 low cost NPHP houses in Lodhran will begin soon. He also announced that the next ballot will be held in the fourth week of October, to determine successful applicants for the NPHP project in Renala Khurd.

The minister also revealed that NPHP projects in 10 more cities will be started very soon. These include Bhakkar, Toba Tek Singh, Jhelum, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Lahore.
