Multan: The process for finalizing the land site for setting up the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) in South Punjab has been initiated, reported a news source. The authority assigned to identify the appropriate land for the project has recommended an area of 900-kanals in Mouza Bahawalpur Sukha.

Multan Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amir Khattak share this information while chairing a meeting of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) yesterday. Multan Deputy Director Javed Ansari, Municipal Corporation Chief Officer Iqbal Fareed, and Multan City Assistant Commissioner Qazi Manzoor were also present at the occasion.

DC Khattak further said that the search for other potential project sites is also underway. He informed that the case for the proposed NPHP location in Multan would soon be forwarded to the provincial government.
He added that the provincial executive would pick the best options, based on a site’s available infrastructural facilities. The DC also mentioned that the project for constructing 2.5 million affordable houses in Punjab has been launched.
