Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to extend the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) project to three other cities: Layyah, Bhakkar, and Quaidabad (Khushab), a news source reported.

Provincial Minister for Housing Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed expressed his views on the matter during a meeting on Thursday. Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) Director General Liaquat Ali Chattha was also present at the occasion.
The minister directed the officials concerned to finalise the application procedure for the provision of low-cost houses in the three cities on a priority basis.
He also constituted a six-member committee to finalise the sites proposed for developing the NPHP project in Lahore. The members will submit their report after conducting multiple visits to the proposed locations.

Previously, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal said that the provincial government had nearly finalised the financial models with the Bank of Punjab (BoP) and House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) to provide interest-free loans for the housing project.
