Lahore: Development authorities in Punjab have been made part of Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), reported a news source. Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has issued related instructions to the director generals and vice chairmen of these authorities.
Under NPHP, the federal government has promised to construct 5 million affordable housing units in the country. To ensure that the project delivers in accordance with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision, cooperation from development authorities is crucial.
Housing Minister Rasheed has instructed the development authorities to provide all the required assistance for NPHP. To discuss the matter further, he has called for a meeting in the upcoming week. The heads of respective development authorities will share their reports in this session.
Meanwhile, the recently formed Punjab Task Force (PTF) for NPHP will hold its first meeting today. PTF Chairman Yaqoob Tahir will chair the proceedings. The meeting attendees will discuss matters regarding applications received from Lodhran, Renala Khurd, and Chistian. Furthermore, PTF members will also deliberate on all developments concerned with the construction of 2.5 million houses in Punjab, till date.
