Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to approach foreign investors with regard to Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) – a news source reported.

The government has constituted a committee to devise recommendations in this regard. Member Social Infrastructure P&D Board Abid Bodla has been appointed as the committee’s convener. Other members include additional secretary housing, senior specialist PSS Urban Unit, chief project PP Cell, and designer MSNC Committee.
The Punjab government previously approved funds to conduct a feasibility study of NPHP. The executive released the funds on the request of the housing department.
A meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), presided over by P&D Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani, sanctioned the transfer of funds. Several low-cost houses will be constructed in Chishtian, Lodhran, and Renala Khurd using the grant money.

PDWP sanctioned the funds worth over PKR 2 million for the NPHP project in Chishtian. Similarly, it approved PKR 3 million, each, for the housing projects in Lodhran and Renala Khurd.
