Islamabad: The Chairman of Board of China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and Head of Huan D.R Group met Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, a news source reported. During the meeting, both officials expressed their interest for further investments in the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP). They also shared their willingness to invest in the country’s agriculture sector.

Chairman CMEC, Zhang Chun, listed the various projects which the body had pursued in Pakistan to the PM. He laid particular emphasis on the energy sector, which had experienced notable development under CMEC. He further apprised the PM regarding the progress of the 1,263 megawatts power plant in Jhang. He said that the project was nearing completion.
Previously, another Chinese firm had shown interest in investing in NPHP. Officials of the Yuanda Group had met with Sindh Governor and Karachi Mayor in this regard in December 2018.
