Lahore: The Punjab Government has decided to invite applications for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) from Okara, Lodhran and Bahawalnagar districts from next month, according to a news report.
The spadework has been completed for three districts and the government will advertise to call for application, while the allotments will be done in February.

Previously, the government had announced that NPHP will be launched in Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Jhelum, Bahawalpur, Layyah, Multan, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan, and Gujranwala. However, considering the huge amount of interest in the project and the large number of applications, that is not going to be done.
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has received around 80,000 applications Faisalabad. These will need to be scrutinised and the allotment will be done after the scrutiny process have been completed in March next year.

According to Provincial Minister for Housing Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed the government would construct double-storey houses under the NPHP pilot project. The Federal Housing Taskforce and the Punjab Government have already completed the arrangements to initiate development work.
